Who we are
The project which started in 2009 and now in its 9th year was designed on the premise of a short term-quick-fix intervention measure to address the twin problems of recurring dearth of middle level technical manpower for the industries and unprecedented rise in youth employment.
The foregoing, therefore, informed its choice of “brown fields” institutions for the skill acquisition programmes. NECA member-companies made available their technical training schools, while ITF complemented these private sector schools with its own Industrial Skills Training Centres.
The training institutions currently provide empowerment in the following skill areas:
All the training centres, “brown fields” and public school alike, are being supported with the ILO certified entrepreneurship empowerment programme using the Generate Your Business Idea (GYBI) and Start and Improve Your Business (SIYB) Modules.
