Job Summary
The B1 Engineer is hired to plan, organize and carry out aircraft maintenance checks following the airline’s maintenance schedule.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Focuses on engines and airframes of the aircraft
- Keeps records of and performs scheduled maintenance
- Makes emergency repairs and upgrades to aircraft
- Prepares for Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) inspections
- Ensures engineers observe all NCAA rules and regulations when performing any job duty
- Undertaking tasks and projects related to aircraft maintenance
- Exercising license/approval in relation to the inspection and everyday processes
- Signing off inspections and general tasks/ repair work
- Ensuring high-quality work is completed in relation to aircraft, components and completed documentation
- Ensuring equipment, facilities and premises are maintained to an acceptable standard
- Ensuring crews are suitably debriefed to ensure defects are accurately defined and recorded
- Ensure crews and other departments are informed of any issues and the measures taken to rectify them
- Determining the condition of the aircraft’s parts and equipment
- Analyzing and interpreting technical information relating to aircraft
- Reading engineering diagrams and manuals
- Working closely with other departments to complete project work
Experience & Qualification
- Aircraft apprenticeship, aircraft engineering diploma, or equivalent part 147 basic training certificate
- EASA Part 66 B1 License/NCAA certification required
- At least six years of related experience in the aviation industry is required
