The name was carefully chosen to reflect the philosophy behind the establishment of the school. Because it was established as a co-educational institution, the need to reflect both genders in the name was important. 
 
Since our vision is to nurture children that would be examples to others in every field of endeavour, the starting point became the Holy Prophet (SAW) who was described by Allah as the best example for mankind (Q33:21). 
 
Med was therefore picked from Prophet Muhammed’s name. For the feminine part, we picked Prophet Muhammed’s mother as an example of the saying of the Prophet that if you educate a woman, you educate a whole nation. 
 
The Prophet’s mother was the vehicle Allah used to bring the Rossul to the world! So, “mina” was picked from Amina and we had Medmina! 
 
Our mission is to create an international school system that would stimulate and nurture intellectual development; sound understanding of Islam and all round growth that would make our products good Muslims, global citizens and great leaders.
